Fojnica is a town in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, located west of Kiseljak and of the capital Sarajevo. It lies in the valley of the Fojnička River, tributary of the river Bosna. Fojnica has the most prominent spa in the region of Eastern Europe. Visiting Fojnica for this reason would be an excellent choice. The other most popular spa in Bosnia is in Olovo. Administratively, Fojnica is part of the Central Bosnia Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the 1991 census, the population of Fojnica municipality was at 16,227 residents, of which 49.36% were Bosniaks, 40.91% Croats, 0.95% Serbs, 2.44% Yugoslavs and 6.34% others. The town itself had 6,444 residents: 45% Croats, 41% Bosniaks, 5% Yugoslavs, 2% Serbs and 7% others.
