Bužim is a village and municipality situated in the most northwestern
Bosnia and
Herzegovina. Administratively, it is part of the Una-Sana Canton.

Bužim borders
Bosanska Krupa to the east,
Cazin to the south, Velika Kladuša to the west and north, and finally with the Republic of Croatia to the northeast. Geographically most of the municipality is mountainous. The total land area of
Bužim is about 129 km² with a population of 20,000.
Bužim is about 180-400 meters above sea-level.

municipality. But as a result of the Before the war, the village of Bužim was officially part of the Bosanska Krupa Dayton Agreement, Bužim became a municipality itself. The village was succesfully defended by the Bosnian Army's 5th corps during the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Demographics
According to the 1991. census, town of Bužim had a population of 1,697, including:
- 1,643 - 96.81% Muslims by nationality
- 20 - 1.17% Serbs
- 3 - 0.17% Croats
- 10 - 0.58% Yugoslavs
- 21 - 1.23% others
It is not known how many people now live in Bužim because there has not been a census since 1991, but it is reasonable to assume that the population has increased somewhat due to incoming refugees from other areas.
